Expenses

What will the expenses be?

A general idea of cost can be obtained on the web-site or over the phone and a general price list will be presented at the time of arrangements. Basically there are three sections to consider on the expenses:

1st there are the service charges that include the overhead expenses of the crematory. These charges when chosen in a package format reflect significant discounts or they can be itemized individually to reflect a family’s particular needs or price range.

2nd there are the chosen merchandise selections (Caskets, Urns, Vaults, Printed Materials, etc.) These items are the items that must have Washington state Sales Tax added to them. There are a wide variety of selections for all of these items to fit just about any particular budget. A general idea of costs can be obtained over the phone and a complete price list will be presented at the time of arrangements.

3rd there are the “Cash Advance” Items. These are charges that originate from outside the crematory. These items include but are not limited to: Cemetery plot / plot open and closing fees, certified copies of the death certificate from the Health Dept., Vault or Liner delivery charges, Obituary charges from newspapers, clergy and vocalist honorariums, etc.

Please Note: Assistance in obtaining any Social Security, Veteran’s and/or Civil Service benefits that the family might be eligible for is never a problem and in many cases, these benefits cover a large portion of the costs involved with cremation so that the family’s out of pocket expenses can be kept very minimal. If the deceased is a retired social worker or is a veteran of the armed forces, verification of this should be brought in at the time of arrangements so that the crematory may assist in obtaining any assistance that these agencies may provide to help pay for the funeral expenses.
